If you request a callback

The callback form and the 14-day counter's "put these dates on record" form send the details you type: your name, your phone number, your email if you give one, the date of your crash if you give it, the day-14 date and days left if you used the counter, which form you used, and whether you ticked the box allowing a call or text. There is no free-text box, so nobody is asked to type medical details.

A name and at least one way to reach you are required. Everything else is optional.

Where it goes

Each request is written to a log file on this site's web server, in a folder that is not reachable from the web, and is then emailed to the helpline so it can call you back about your 14-day PIP deadline and where to start care. The log is written first so a failed email cannot lose a request.

The form handler does not record your IP address, your browser's full user-agent string, the page that referred you, a cookie or a session ID. It reads the user-agent once to screen out automated submissions and then discards it.

If you tap a phone number

When you tap a call link, the site records that the number was tapped, the link text, the page path and whether the device was a phone or a computer. It does not record who you are, your IP address or your own phone number.

The 14-day counter

The counter runs inside your browser. Your crash date is sent nowhere unless you fill in the short request under your result and submit it.

Services from Google

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and show maps embedded from Google Maps, and on the live site Google Analytics measures visits and call taps. Those services are run by Google under Google's own privacy terms.
